So people keep asking me certain questions about my cruise...was it fun? (YES!) what was your favorite part? (friends) meet any tall handsome available men? (none I care to mention) did you like the food? (ate way to much of it!) those kinds of things...I've had a couple people say "give me the scoop" to which I have to rack my brain for stories...mostly because the thing about this trip wasn't the activities but it was the people I was with...and how do you put into words the feeling you get when you are with people you love and have missed and feel privledged to know? But for the sake of those who like to know some of the gory details I will attempt to tell a couple of the highlight moments I experienced.
Day 1Getting on the cruise and setting sail...a wondeful feeling of anticipation for the week to come. We spent our first night at the My Fair Lady Dining hall, the first of a week of amazing dinners with a fun assistant waiter, a shy waiter and a very distinguished head waiter. We ended the night several of us getting into a hot tub and enjoying the sea breeze and the moonlight.
Day 2The captain personally woke us up (okay, his voice on the intercom was so loud we just thought he was in the room). We headed to Key West for the morning. Some shopping and a fun time at the butterfly garden. We had our pic taken by the Southern Most Point of the Continental US...good times....Back on the boat they had a scrapbooking time so all us girls headed there (minus Burke who would never be caught dead scrappin') was pretty cheesy but hey, it's a cruise so who cares. We met the captain before dinner which was kind of fun. He seems like a nice guy. We ended the night dancing disco with the Almost Village People...when we were completely tired and danced out we headed to the top deck to cool off. We ended up in the wading pool where we continued the dance party with just us girls...dancin' under the stars is the way to go! it was kind of funny when people would walk by...they probably thought we were drinking, but you can have amazing fun I've found with out the aid of alcohol :-)
Day 3This was the Cozumel day...Heidi, Kristen and I had an excursion together...snorkling. It started out and ended up as a beautiful day but while we were snorkling the rain really poured down and then bounced back up into our faces and the water got all choppy and it was generally an uncomfortable experience...and personally I like to see the fish in the distance, not cool when they swim right by you...I was freaking out about that... (I know what you are all thinking but logic isn't my specialty). We eventually got out of the water and the instructor made some comment like "the lightning only hits the palm trees"...yeah.
Day 4This was a full day at sea. We slept in, ate a bunch, sunned ourselves near almost all the pools...saw some guy carve a fish sculpture out of a block of ice...ate some ice cream...dressed up for dinner like always...midnight buffet after our Shows and things were done...a nice day.
Day 5BahamaMama...this was a truley sunny, beautiful, lay in the hammock kinda day. The only really exciting thing that comes to mind were the hammerhead sharks who were in the water with us...I was out as soon as I found thank you. Everyone else went and got their camera's and got back in the water...nuts.That night after the day was done and we were all winding down I took a walk by my lonesome. I ended up on the top deck watching a storm way off in the distance. It was beautiful. Every time lighting would strike the whole sky would light up. Most people know I love fireworks, and I would have to say this was God's version of a light show. A great way to end the cruise.
Day 6This was the day to get off the ship and to fly home. It took forever for it to be our turn to get off the ship so I relaxed in a porthole and us girls just chatted the time away. When I got to the airport, turns out my flight had been rescheduled and had already left...they hadn't notified me and as I told the lady, it wouldn't have mattered because I was on a ship! they put me on a taxi to the Miami Airport and I flew home way later, Burke insisted they buy me lunch at least so I got free lunch which was fine by me.
I guess that's all she wrote! I loved the trip, I loved seeing my girls, and I have a little bit of scrapbooking to do now!!!

a one sentence description of a cruise until I have time to elaborate

Basically all you do is eat and be entertained while sunning yourself and laughing...not a bad way to live if you ask me!

Sweet Sweet Baby

Today is Beck's 1 year b-day. I spent the morning hanging out with him while his mom and dad tried to get a little sleep after driving all night...boy oh boy do I love that little boy! We opened his presents from me so we'd have something to do together, he loved what I got him which was good because you never know with little ones if they will like the gift or what it's wrapped in more :-) anyhow...he's as sweet as can be and I tried to get him to say Jamie and it came out something like maymeee...which is fine by me! They are all napping now at my place and I was put in charge of getting directions for all the places we have to be today. (I guess when they moved away they forgot how directionally challenged I am...last night I was lost two times...spent almost two hours in my car not knowing where I was...lovely) I'm sure after this weekend I will have nothing else to talk about but how sweet that little boy is and how much I miss Ira and I apologize now for anyone I force to listen to me go on and on and on and on...and on...did I mention how cute Beck is??!
