"Cousin to cousin we'll always be,
Special friends from the same family tree."
Author: Unknown
I never had cousins. It is a mysterious relationship to me. Lance has tons of them, I think a few of you even read my blog (say hi sometime!)
My son will have lots of cousins too.
My niece Eliana (my older brother Mike's daughter) saw Judah on Skype the other night...she was so stinkin' cute. She said that he was "adorabable" and "I love him!" and "He's so CUTE!" and "that's a funny name *giggle*"
She is five and pretty stinkin' "adorabable" herself. She is about to have a baby brother in May.
My nephew Beck (my younger brother Ira's son) hasn't seen him yet but when Ira told him his name was Judah Byrd he laughed and laughed. He thinks it's a silly name. Why wouldn't we say Judah Baby instead of Judah Byrd? lol. His dad tried to explain that it was a middle name just like Beck was Beck Wayne. He then started calling him Judah Baldwin which is his last name (my maiden name). He can't figure out why we would call our baby a bird. I love kids.
He is 3 and has a joyful personality and a fun outlook on life.
Not sure what my niece Evie (also Ira's child) thinks of it all but she is a baby lover and when they were here for the baby shower she loved looking at my belly and asked if I could please get the baby out so she could see him. haha, I wished! I'm sure she will love on him like any good little 2yr old mama when she gets the chance.
And then there are my nephews Max and Jacob (Lance's sisters children) ...we talked to them when I was still in the hospital so I am having a little hard time remembering exactly what all they said (the hospital haze)...but I remember that they were excited Judah was born and they love their Uncle Lance to pieces so always love talking to him on the phone taking turns.
They are 6 and 4 yrs old. We have photos of them when they were babies on our family wall and Judah sure looks like them. I wonder if Lance's sister will think so when she comes to visit. I am curious to find out.

Loved this post, Jamie. :) I have a cousin (named Jamie, ha!) who is 10 years younger then me. We are both only children, so we grew up together and are beyond close. I don't ever call her my cousin, I call her my sister, because cousin just seems weird to me, we're so much more then that. I'd be lost without her. I only have 3 cousins including her, my other 2 cousins I"m not close with, but they are cool. The cousin relationship is a strange thing, I agree. But it sounds like little Judah will have lots of close cousins. Lucky him (in so many ways, not just the cousin thing!)!
Oh my! I will share my cousins Jamie! I have a lot!
I have cousins but the ones that are w/ in five years of me are all BOYS. And boys are icky! :)
Looks like Evie and Eliana are going to have the same situation for awhile...they'll have to stick together.
Until more cousins come...
