serves me right

Once upon a time I made fun of my mom. Yes, it is true. I teased her and even rolled my eyes. Bad Jamie.

She was going on and on about the Candida and calling them the "yeasty beasty's" was so easy to make fun...

and now...the "yeasty beasty's" have come for me. serves me right for making fun of my mother. *dramatic sigh*

Thrush is not fun.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about...consider yourself lucky.

I am doing all the right things...taking my meds, giving Judah his...and yet, very little today I ventured into the world of my diet. I wandered the aisles of Whole Foods looking for sugar free, dairy free, gluten free items to toss into the cart. They do exist...there is very little choice. Oh well. "Food is Fuel" "Food is Fuel" this will be my mantra.

If it gets rid of the itchy ouchy yeasty beasty's and my poor fussy baby's tummy calms down it will be worth it.

Most things won't be a big deal to not have but I am very very sad about not drinking milk. I heart milk. :(

So sorry about the milk! I know how you love dairy and how we could never keep a gallon of milk in the house... Trader Joe's has lots of gluten-free, dairy-free, etc. I'm sure you already knew that, too, but at least you'd have an excuse to visit TJ.

Have you tried taking acidophilus? It works great for me and my son. We buy the pricey kind from the health food store...with live cultures guaranteed through SHELF life.

Good luck! I feel for you!

I wish you never had to experience this debilitating thing. I get it calmed down then splurge on sugar or take an antibiotice and whoa they multiply and make my life hellishly terrible...I forgive you and anyone else who laughed at the yeasty beasties!

Oh no! So sorry to hear about the thrush. I'll be praying it clears up quickly.

I agree with Momo.

Also, avoid any antibiotics unless really necessary. With our first children, they were prescribed freely for any little cold or ear infection. We suffered with thrush alot. Gus had pneumonia and ear infections so much, I finally said NO MORE. I told Tom Rizzo, from BAG, who was in med school my theory about not going to dr for ear infections. He thought I was nuts. But it worked. With our last babies, I have been a very mean momma, making them suffer through minor ear infections without a dr. thrush, no recurrent infections.

Food for thought.

It was hard for me to give up dairy at first. Now, here and there, mostly there. I hope the change proves to be the answere. Diet controls so many things!

Hope things get better for you.

My boys had milk protein allergies. I was dairy free for a year (two years actually) and it was hard. Hope you are able to figure things out, it can be tricky trying to solve those tummy and yeasty issues :(

Hang in there!
