a visit

we are leaving tomorrow for a weekend in Mpls.

I am excited!

It feels like a trip "home". It is hard to explain. 13 yrs is a long time in one place as an adult. 13 yrs of friendships. 13 yrs of finding my way around a city I loved. 13 yrs of memories. Good memories far far far outweigh any bad ones I had.

I know I was there in January but honestly I feel like anything I did while I was pregnant just didn't feel normal. I wasn't normal. I am going to enjoy this trip in a completely different way.

I have a whole other blog in me about how special it will be to stand up with my husband and dedicate our son to the Lord. That is a moment I want to savor. I honestly know that I will only be a good mom by the grace of God and to publicly commit to it is a big deal in my mind. This is a mile marker for our family.

I guess I need to put baby J to sleep now and then get to packing...let the fun begin!
