Ira and Ashley visited this weekend and the new pastor spoke. He said something to the effect of "do you ever wish you could take back something that happened two seconds after it happened? well, I do and I'm famous on youtube for it!" he said it so quickly that I didn't even really hear the youtube part but Ira and Ashley did and two seconds after they were smacking each other and laughing and mouthing to me if I knew if he was the "pitching tents" guy...to which I instantly knew what they were talking about and started laughing too...all of a sudden I knew why he was so familiar.
So several years ago someone emailed me this clip. Hilarious and also every preacher/public speakers worst nightmare. This is our new pastor :) he's a little older now but still has the same mannerisms and laugh.
*for full laughter and effect, watch this "full screen" and pay attention to his eyes...lololol...

...the delivery man was patient as it took me a while to get to the door, turns out he has a 4 week old and figured it would take me a while :) nice.
I was thrilled! I have always secretly wanted to see one of these in real life and to taste :) I eagerly opened the card to see who had blessed us and found a sweet note...unsigned!
Secret Admirers already handsome Judah?! I am not surprised :)
But I am a super sleuth...me and Veronica Mars...I called the company and found out who the generous and amazing admirer was...
Jamie and her husband Dave and their darling sweet lovable 5 children sent this amazing gift! We love it!!!
The day after I give birth to Judah I win a blog contest..the first and only contest I have ever won...and the prize is a maternity shirt?! lol.
I love my life :)
Here's a picture of me sporting my prize for an outing with the fam.
www.rockstarmoms.com is the website for tons of cute preggo clothes. To bad I didn't know about it sooner :)

I learned something today that I thought I'd share...maybe it's common knowledge amongst moms but I'm a newby and find that this is fascinating.
I was googling how to get baby pooh out of clothes. And this is what I found...
"Baby poop is full of bilirubin. And just like you sit a jaundice baby in the sun, it takes away the yellow..."
So basically, rinse the item out, wash it like normal...you can treat the stain with whatever you normally use...and then instead of putting the item in the dryer, hang them to dry in the sun and vwala...no more poop stain!
We've been doing it and it works great!
Gotta love the sunshine!!!

I love my father as the stars - he's a bright shining example and a happy twinkling in my heart. ~Adabella Radici
Judah is one lucky baby...he has an amazing daddy and he has years and years ahead of him to find out how amazing.

(although real jewelry is nice too...)
My estrogen levels are going crazy after having a baby. All good and normal. My doc warned me (and Lance) that I would probably find myself crying at the strangest times.
I've only had one big melt down and I was in the shower...one of my favorite places to cry...and cry I did. I cried and cried. I have never been great at asking for help and it overwhelmed me the amount of help I am needing and having to ask for...pride and my independent nature are strong...it is humbling.
Other than that I have cried mostly for happy reasons. A good moment, a kind word, a familiar face...these are the things that bring tears to my eyes.
I found something I adore.
how stinkin' cute is this?

The flower is the poetry of reproduction. It is an example of the eternal seductiveness of life. ~Jean Giraudoux
I didn't realize that when you had a baby people gave you flowers. I knew when I died I'd probably get some but sadly wouldn't be around to enjoy them :) so i was pleasantly surprised to be blessed with so many lovely bouquets of flowers for this fun occasion. I even told Lance I'd consider having more babies if he promised me tons of flowers :) lol. Yes, I like flowers that much. Of course the enjoyment and memory of all these wonderful flowers will get me through at least a few more years...
So what's the etiquette for flowers...do I send thank you notes? anybody know?

I am just curious what you ladies did when it came to nursing and clothing. I mean, I have 2 nursing bra's, 1 nursing tank top and my mom and sis went out to get me some pj's which will be good for night time and around the house...but what about everything else?
did you just wear normal clothes and take your shirt off or push it up?
did you have specific shirts/outfits for nursing?
what was practical?
did you buy/use anything you found out was silly and useless in the end?
I am a bit clueless about this and figured a little girlfriend research was in order so I knew what to plan and how to make good decisions.
"Cousin to cousin we'll always be,
Special friends from the same family tree."
I never had cousins. It is a mysterious relationship to me. Lance has tons of them, I think a few of you even read my blog (say hi sometime!)
My son will have lots of cousins too.
My niece Eliana (my older brother Mike's daughter) saw Judah on Skype the other night...she was so stinkin' cute. She said that he was "adorabable" and "I love him!" and "He's so CUTE!" and "that's a funny name *giggle*"
She is five and pretty stinkin' "adorabable" herself. She is about to have a baby brother in May.
My nephew Beck (my younger brother Ira's son) hasn't seen him yet but when Ira told him his name was Judah Byrd he laughed and laughed. He thinks it's a silly name. Why wouldn't we say Judah Baby instead of Judah Byrd? lol. His dad tried to explain that it was a middle name just like Beck was Beck Wayne. He then started calling him Judah Baldwin which is his last name (my maiden name). He can't figure out why we would call our baby a bird. I love kids.
He is 3 and has a joyful personality and a fun outlook on life.
Not sure what my niece Evie (also Ira's child) thinks of it all but she is a baby lover and when they were here for the baby shower she loved looking at my belly and asked if I could please get the baby out so she could see him. haha, I wished! I'm sure she will love on him like any good little 2yr old mama when she gets the chance.
And then there are my nephews Max and Jacob (Lance's sisters children) ...we talked to them when I was still in the hospital so I am having a little hard time remembering exactly what all they said (the hospital haze)...but I remember that they were excited Judah was born and they love their Uncle Lance to pieces so always love talking to him on the phone taking turns.
They are 6 and 4 yrs old. We have photos of them when they were babies on our family wall and Judah sure looks like them. I wonder if Lance's sister will think so when she comes to visit. I am curious to find out.

Judah Byrd Lockhart
9lbs 13 oz
21 1/2 inches
10 fingers 10 toes and only one nose
His head circumference is 15.5 inches (ouch)
April 13, 2009 (one day before his due date!)
I have some recovery in my future...I love pain meds :)
The epidural worked wonders, giving birth wasn't nearly as horrid as I imagined...not something I'd sign up to do for kicks but not horrid.
Judah is a bible name, one of the men in the lineage of Jesus. In fact one of the names for God is "Lion of Judah" because the tribe of Judah (bible history trivia) is what they called the lineage line he was from. There were 12 tribes named after brothers.
Judah was the youngest of the brothers and when his mom delivered him she said "Praise God, I am done having babies!" and that's what his name means Mostly it was the Praise God part but the other part made me laugh and it's what I've been feeling the whole pregnancy so it was appropriate, although I may do this again just not for a LONG LONG time.
Byrd is a family name. Byrd Lockhart was a courier at the Alamo and Lance is a direct descendant of this person. I am still learning the story but his family is very proud of the history and Lance's dad shares it as his middle name also. His dad is tickled to pass the name on.
Personally it reminds me of our wedding day when we were married at the Roseman Bridge in Madison county and the birds sang their hearts out the entire wedding and in my mind was one of the more beautiful things about that day, a gift from God to me with all the beautiful singing of his creation.
I write 10 blogs a day in my mind but with nursing (which is going great) and recovery they don't make it out of my imagination. There will come a time where I will write down many of my thoughts and capture my memories in writing. Until then the camera is handy at all times and I am treasuring many things in my heart.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
I'm watching this movie right now, it's so sweet. A classic. I couldn't resist going to itunes and using my last store credit to buy this song...which is now stuck in my head...which is okay because whenever a song gets stuck in my head I just need to hear it and enjoy it a little and it goes away eventually on it's own :)
Toot sweets sound like what they are
So do lollys in a lollypop jar
Gingerbread men have a gingerbread sound, we've found
Sugar plum cinnamon and lemon tart tell you what they are right from the
And your name does the same for you
By coincidence, Truly Scrumptious
You're truly truly scrumptious
Scrumptious as a cherry peach parfait
When your near us
It's so delicious
Honest Truly, you're the answer to our wishes
Though we may seem presumptuous
Never, never, ever go away
Our hearts beat so unruly
Because we love you truly
Honest Truly, we do
You two are truly scrumptious
Scrumptious as the breeze across the bay
When you're smiling
It's so delicious
You're the answer to my wishes
You two are truly scrumptious
And I shan't forget this lovely day
My heart beats so unruly
I also love you truly
Honest truly, I do

I had me some taco bell after my apt. comfort food.
Then headed to meet with a pediatrician. Not sure if we'll use her for long term but she was good for now.
Spent the rest of the day watching online tv and laying on the couch. I've eaten a ton of fruit and some ice cream to sweeten it up :) more comfort food.
I'm just so ready to be done with this chapter. I have very little to say and very little to contribute to the world right now.
Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I can use them.

okay moms who read me....please don't stay silent...I need all the advice, suggestions, stories, etc you care to share about breastfeeding.
Not gonna lie...I'm a little freaked out by it. The potential for pain and for it to be harder than I think and stuff like that...
We take a class tomorrow night about it at our hospital and they seem to be huge advocates about it which is good cause that means they will help me and not discourage me which is good to know...clearly I know the basics and all that and I know about La lechi league and all that but I want to know some practical tips from moms who I know....if there are any...

7 days and counting...until the due date anyways.
If I haven't had this kid by then...I plan to ask Lance to take me to a baseball game. I don't want to sit around and be all depressed I'm still pregnant that day if I can help it. I've been looking forward to it for way to long for it to be a downer day. Baseball sounds just as fun as having a baby :) hot dogs, relish, catsup, chips and a soda. heck, baby might decide the menu is worth making an appearance for.

The people who invited me didn't return my calls...but they had given me the address so I googled the ministry and found the info and it seemed to match what I had written down. Same city, same names of people, same phone number. I checked last night before I went to bed.
But alas...I drove all the way there...an hour away...and nothing. So I called my sis and had her double check the web site for me...and today it had a different city, same names of people and a new phone number. I guess they moved the location...but the website wasn't specific enough on where so I was out of luck. They updated their website today. go figure. just my luck.
It was a lovely drive though. For some reason my Garmin was avoiding highways...I guess when my sister and Brandy used it they changed the settings...which was mostly okay except for the 10 minutes I was sitting watching a train drive by and getting more and more aggravated as each box car passed me by...this was before I knew what I was looking for didn't exist and I just thought I was going to be late. sheesh! But the drive was very pretty seeing as I was out in the country.
I ended the night with a trip through the taco bell drive through and then parked at a local park and watched a soft ball game from my car with the window rolled down. I kidnapped my sister for the last part, drove by my house long enough for her to jump in.
Not a super bad night in the end but man I would have liked to have gone to the horse thingy. oh well. another day.
I also wanted to post a fun picture of a horse...but instead i will post a picture of a duck (or something very similar to a duck). someday I will blog more about the ducks...today just enjoy the picture :)
I just finally got these digital. They are from the 19 week ultrasound I had when we found out we were having a boy. Isn't he cute? :)
They also gave us a DVD of the ultrasound which is 40 minutes of extremely boring except for about 3 minutes of it where you can see him with the hiccups and moving around. Pretty neat. I've so far only made family sit and watch it all :)
Hopefully soon we can post some more current pictures :)

I do believe this baby will be born in April. Which means he's a diamond baby :) Lucky kid. I was a Blue Topaz baby. December isn't a very glamorous month :)
It's also april fools day....I thought of doing a bunch of mean stuff like faking I was in labor for Lance. Or calling up family members and telling them it was a girl...lololol....yes I crack myself up...but I decided it probably wasn't a great idea since I am going to need all of these people to love me and take care of me in the very near future. Oh well, a girl can dream!
