Once upon a time...
My mom and dad.
My sister.
My brothers.
And as of tomorrow, my friend Leslie.
Needless to say I am happy to see her.
Once upon a time we used to pull out an Oreo cookie when we saw a good looking guy and we'd "twist" to see who had dibs.
Once upon a time we never called each other by our actual names...she was Gorgeous and I was Beautiful.
Once upon a time her parents were my "parents" while my actual parents lived 2000 miles away.
Once upon a time I put on quite a lovely (I actually wore it several times, it actually was pretty...and trust me, that is rare) bridesmaid dress and had the privilege of standing up in her wedding.
Once upon a time she met me in an airport when I was flying to Rome just to give me a hug. (pre-heavy security days when people could come to the gate)
Once upon a time she helped me decorate endlessly huge white walls in a college dorm when she knew no one but me.
and as of tomorrow...I will be able to say
Once upon a time I introduced my dear friend to my baby and showed her around my town "Nashville".
Now won't that be something. Just one more entry in the time line of a dear friendship.
