Happy Camping part 1

yes...there will be many parts to the Happy Camping tales...I have way to many pictures, memories and moments to share about to be contained in one little ol' post...

So here goes...

Once upon a time...a long long time ago...approximately one week ago...

Judah and I joined my brother Ira and his two oldest kiddo's for a camping adventure...

If anyone asks my brother what he did this weekend I believe the most honest answer he can give is that he packed, unpacked, repacked and packed his car over and over and over.

It was a big giant puzzle trying to figure out how to get all our belongings in the car...and when he couldn't quite do it, we arranged for Mrs. B to come pick us up on Sunday so we would all fit (Lance was joining us mid trip). So that was at least two times packing and up packing while we figured all that out.

The next packing and unpacking escapade came later that night after we discovered our planned camping location was sold out...and then our back up camping location was also not going to work...somehow we ended up at the end of a really long dirt road, near a dark reservoir type lake and in a city park that we decided might work for camping..as long as no one saw us...ha! So we pulled everything out of the car so Ira could see if it was possible to put a huge tent together with only the glow of the car headlights. Which ended up really not working...which resulted in yet another time of packing up the car.

And this was all just the first day! I have to admit though, as we pulled into the drive way of my brothers home and we all piled inside and slept in our comfy beds for the first night of our "camping" trip...I was kind of glad...it was cold outside...really really cold.

Here are a few pictures of our first day "camping".

So excited to finally be packed up and ready to hit the road! Happy little campers!

Ira's sweet kiddo's actually sleep in the car...

my little sweetie...not so much...

Ira joked around that he would teach Judah how to sleep in the car...leave it to his "unkie"!

Here we are pulling into our first camp sight...only to find it was closed...phooey...oh well...

Here is Ira attempting to set up a tent by the light of his headlights...the kids and I had fun with flashlights and looking up at the beautiful stars in the sky and exploring the edges of the field we were parked in the middle of...
and for dinner we ate cinnamon rolls and crackers.
delicious!
we ended up packing up and heading home...2hr drive after everyone's bed time...awesome.

Ironically..."unkie" Ira actually got JByrd to sleep in the car. Thank the Lord above cause if he hadn't slept he would have cried and that would have been the longest drive ever. But in the end it all worked out and we made it home and had a good nights sleep before we restarted our camping adventure...but I will continue the story later...

Yay! So glad you're writing about this. It will make me feel as if I were there.
Except...I wasn't.
And...I'm glad. ;)
