Free Willy!

Last week our little family went to SanAntonio to visit with Lance's parents and folks.
We had a wonderful visit.
The highlight for me was our visit to Sea World. It was amazing to see Shamu jump up out of the water and have your breath taken away by the beauty and the power. I admit I even shed a few tears. I can't exactly explain it but it was like I never really ever thought I'd have the chance to see Free Willy for myself and there they all were. And one of the shamu's had a was adorable. As adorable as a baby killer whale can be. So pretty stinkin' adorable.

I didn't know if Judah would really get into it all but he was riveted. Holding his little body when the whales jumped out of the water and feeling him respond to it with wonder was an experience in and of itself. I have no idea if these moments will make it into his long term memory or not but he's gonna love the photos some day and more than likely he will get to go again when he is old enough to remember and I have a feeling it will feel familiar.

Yes, it was amazing. Free Willy!!!

Pure Summer 3 (night lights)

He finally settled on lights for the porch...he knew daddy would love them

plus who doesn't love pretty shiny things...

daddy was almost as excited to get his tools out and
hang the lights as he was to get them in the first place....go figure!

Just enough lights left over to light up the tree too!

daddy has mad ladder skillz

baby J was sleeping but mommy and daddy sure enjoyed the shiny pretty lights

Maybe when baby J is bigger he can stay up late and see the lights for himself...

To my son's father

There's a wide eyed little fellow
who believes you're always right
and his ears are always open
and he watches day and night

You are setting an example
every day in all you do
for the little boy is waiting
to grow up to be like you

Pure Summer 2

I'm going to be doing a series of photo blogs over the summer titled "Pure Summer". I have a goal of enjoying as many of these southern summer days and nights as I can. Doing things that you can really only do in summer.

Today's post begins with us going to the local Artisan Festival. I figured I'd get the yucky stuff out of the way first :) Gotta love a good port o potty when it's almost 100 degrees outside. Hold your breath or you may not survive...

This guy was creating was neat to watch.

You can't have summer with out a cooler of cold water and cold watermelon! Baby J was the talk of the festival riding in complete style.

There were lots of great booths selling their wares, this one was fun!

"Do we have time for sonic?" um...yes, the answer to that question is always YES!

Baby J has been introduced to the glory of a lemon slush...
I could barely pry that thing out of his hands!

My husbands idea of a good time is going to Home Depot...
I don't mind when we find treasures like this blue mist-er.
It is amazing.
It mists you and feels amazing.
Thank you Home Depot.

Lance decided to clean the pool.
We got out the purple soothing night time bubble bath...
it seemed like a good idea at the time.
The bubbles freaked Judah out at first, so daddy enjoyed the pool alone.
haha :)
nakey butt baby in the background...

This picture cracks me up.
Lance was trying to get the bubbles off of the sonic straw.
Baby J finally warmed up to the idea of a cold bubble bath in the pool outside.

Yet another pure summer day!

Chocolate math!

1. Pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate...this link is wicked cool btway.

2. Multiply this number by 2.

3. Add 5.

4. Multiply that number by 50.

5. If you have already had your birthday htis year, add 1760. If you haven't, add 1759.

6. Now subtract the four-digit year that you were born.

7. You should have a three-digit number. The first digit of this figure is your original number (i.e., how many times you want to each chocolate each week).

8. The next two numbers are....YOUR AGE!
