Eat Drink and be Scary

So tell me! What are you going to be for Halloween?

Judah likes to dress up in his mommies sun glasses...but for the actual holiday we are going to be in a wedding. (I am pre writing this post..thus the confusing tenses)

Well, technically only I am going to be IN the wedding...Judah will be my date :) We are bringing his little monster costume along in hopes of a cutey cute picture with the halloween bride...and maybe some trick or treating later that night...

I'll let you know if we are successful!

Pumpkin Season

Oh how we love pumpkin season. You did know this gourd-ish squash has its own season, right? Winter, Spring, Summer, Pumpkin.... We anxiously anticipate it every year.

Here is my little pumpkin. He is sweet as a pumpkin pie and just as delicious.

We set him amongst the pumpkins on display at Whole Foods and he was not enjoying the straw at all...turns out lots of it got down into the back of his diaper which made for a really itchy bum...haha...that explains the frowns he was giving us...oops :)

His daddy helped him with his straw bottom issue and then he was a little happier :)

A day in October

On this particular day something happened that NEVER happens. and I mean never ever.

I was up before Judah.
And I got ready. We were about to have a busy day!

Judah was awakened by the flash of my camera...

sleepy head!

It took a while to get his motor running...but we were heading out for breakfast after Lance got home from his Tuesday morning bible study and wanted to be ready!

Judah needed a little more blanket time...to early for him I guess...

Lance picked us up and off we went!

We were meeting up with an old friend of mine from High School.

My friend is considering a move to Nashville, so I figured a breakfast meet up at Noshville was appropriate since if he moves here it will probably be a regular haunt :) SO good. One of Lance and my favorite spots for breakfast.

Judah devoured the fruit.

After our fun breakfast adventure we headed home to get ready for the new Shed we were waiting on to be delivered.

It was a blankey kind of a day.

He really wanted to be outside with his daddy, but that was just not a good idea considering it was cold, rainy and Lance was doing construction type things.

But it was still fun to peek outside and see what dada was up to :)

I caught up on the Kardashians :) guilty pleasure...

Judah loves to Pat the Bunny. A total favorite book.

Lance kept working in the rain...he eventually came inside for a rain coat....but not till he was drenched.

I do appreciate that he wiped things down that he got messy when he came inside. He is thoughtful like that.

Judah thinks it is fun to put his plate or bowl on his head after he is finished eating. I think it's kinda fun too...

And right after I put Judah down for his nap, the shed arrived! So I was able to sneak outside and take some pictures. It was quite an event getting it off the truck and in the right spot. If you've ever felt stressed out while parallel parking...that was nothing...just look at the pics and imagine for yourself how hard it was...yikes. I was relieved when it was finally in place and no one was hurt.

Complete relief. So glad it was in and everyone was safe.

Next up I went to get a hair cut and do some shopping. The boys stayed home.

It is rare for me to go out alone for things like this. I enjoyed it for sure.

When I got home it was time to go to our Life Group. We left blanky behind and off we went!

Someone was not happy about being buckled in...

We stopped for gas and then I realized the camera battery was dead...so no more pics until we got home later that night.

I finished up the night packing us up for a road trip to North Carolina. Judah and I spent the weekend in Charlotte for a friends wedding.

It was a fun October day!

"el eh opta?"

Any toddler translators out there know what my blogpost title means? :) Judah says this little word about 1,000,000x every day. And if we are in the back yard he says it even more often because he is always looking for an "el eh opta" in the sky...

usually followed up by the phrase "ed iiih go?" and if I say "no Judah, there is no 'el eh opta'" he then asks if there are any "ah pains" cause he loves him some "ah pains". And if I say "no Judah, there is no 'ah pain'" he then asks if there are any "cars"...well, you don't need a translator for that one. He says it clear as day over and over and over and over and over and over and over....and when I tell him that "yes Judah, there is a car" he gets super excited, claps and says "yay!" haha. I love it.

I admit, I think it is cute. I do get a little weary of it at times but he is just so serious about it all and really wants to know. Plus he can tell the difference between an "el eh opta" and an "ah pain" not only by what he sees but by the sounds they make. It is pretty cool.

Farmers Market in West Nashville

My lovely friend Jen and I have been sharing a meat CSA for the last 6 months...this saturday was our final pick up. I plan to continue doing the CSA on my own...so that is a lot of meat...I am a little nervous about freezer space but the quality of the meat is amazing, and I am getting really good at cooking a whole chicken and making many kinds of meals out of it. And to think as of a year ago I had never even cooked a whole chicken before. Anyhow...here are some photo's of our morning!

Jen and Leo strolling to the market...Jen is borrowing some of my maternity clothes and it was fun to see her sporting one of the shirts this fine day. She is a tall, beautiful woman so being able to share clothes is a nice perk of the friendship :)

After we picked up our CSA, Judah and I wandered over and sat on a hay bale and listened to some blue grass music. These guys were so good. Judah really enjoyed watching them...my favorite part was when the lead guy started whistling...it was super pretty. Reminded me of a bird. I loved that part.

I couldn't pick which of these two pictures was my favorite so I am showing off both :)

Judah was mesmerized by the instruments and was having fun playing with all the lovely fall leaves that were falling all around us too!

Our other favorite part of the market is the animals people bring! Judah is especially fond of "quack quack's"...hard to notice, but in his left hand he is holding a blue toy duck his daddy bought him when he was a tiny baby. One of his favorites.

It was a lovely morning at the market!
