something I currently am in love with

Round Bathroom Rugs.  I love them. So much.  For real.

Photobucket

I bought one for my master bath and it made taking showers dreamy. It was a white one like in the picture. Today I bought another one for the kids bathroom, it has a couple stripes of the color blue around the inside edges.  I seriously love them.  They make me happy every time I see them.  I think it's just because they are round, and round things seem more fancy...I was obsessed with round cribs for a while, but they are so incredibly expensive I never could justify it, so we have a boring square crib for the boys. The round rugs are making up for it.

It's the little things people.

...ps. The rugs pictured are not mine, but just like them.  Showing a picture of mine would require me getting up, taking a picture, uploading said picture and well, that was just too many steps for me tonight. So a quick google image search and vwala. Here we are.

a new day

Photobucket

Oh heavens, I just love the fall.

Yesterday was probably my worst day parenting ever.  I have lots of good excuses, but it doesn't make it feel any better. I am thankful for "new mercies every morning" and forgiveness.  Today I will find peace and move forward, even though most of my circumstances are the same as yesterday. I love my kids and I know that we all have bad days, but mommy guilt is strong when it's mommy having the bad day.

On another note, my mouth is slowly healing. I have lost a bit of weight this week and plan to keep the scale going downward in the months to come.  It was a nice re-jump start to the baby weight-loss plan that had been placed on the back burner for a while there.

Happy Weekend friends.

busy bees!

I didn't think we were all that busy last week until I started sifting through the pictures I had taken for this blog post...oh my, no wonder I was tired by Sunday night. It was a fun week, but we crammed a lot in that's for sure!

Monday:

This is the day Lance's parents left after spending a week visiting, we went to the Farmer's Market and the Science museum just to get out of the house for a little while before small group later that night. It was a nice day.

Bring on the fall fun!  We got a couple mini-white pumpkins to take home.

Photobucket

We climbed to the pinnacle of the science museum...it was frightening.
Check out Judah's face...mine was worse.
I was relieved to climb back down.
I had that tingly feeling all through my body...also known as fear.

Photobucket

We ended the night with small group and a dance party! Love our group of friends!

Photobucket

Tuesday:
Tuesday was all doctor appointments.  Judah has had a cough going on 2 months now, we've done antibiotics, allergy meds and now a breathing treatment in case it was at all asthma related.  It probably wasn't, so we tried an even stronger antibiotic and it seems to be helping.
Doesn't he look little in this pic? Of course he needed his ear protection because the breathing treatment machine was noisy.  Typical Judah :)
We also got some shots for Lucas, poor kiddo.  He's a trooper though, love my baby.

Photobucket

Next up, a trip to the doc to find out about getting my wisdom teeth removed.
Those are my choppers. Yup. Teeth x-rays make me think of CSI type shows...creepy!

Photobucket

After all the doctor hoopla, we headed to Ryan's for comfort food.
They have the best meatloaf.  And tons of food Judah will actually eat.
Definitely a favorite. Us and all the blue hairs of Nashville ;)

Photobucket

Wednesday:

Lance headed back to work for the day (he had a work overnight in town so that was nice!)
We went to meet a girl (turns out she was like 13) to buy a halloween costume for Lucas...and got stuck waiting on this train.  Once upon a time I tried to avoid train crossings, now they are our idea of a good time and we sit and wait and wait and live for the rocking of the train passing us by slowly...the longer the train, the better.

Photobucket

Our weekly tradition of going to the East Nashville Farmer's Market was coming to a close for the season, the final market of the fall happened and they always make it into a big party for everyone.
Besides the normal yummy food and local vendors, they bring in a tractor and a petting zoo and it's just a great time.

Judah was my photographer for this little ditty ;)

Photobucket

They had pumpkins for us to paint, Judah made lots of eyes and noses on his "monster pumpkin".
I like this picture because you can see all the other families spread out on their blankets enjoying the market, visiting and having a nice day.  This is our East Nashville Mom's Group.

Photobucket

Judah was loving the tractor, we got there early so he was able to enjoy it alone for a long time before it got really busy.

Photobucket

Oh the petting zoo.
Beware little bunnies, the Lockhart boys are teaming up today...

Photobucket

Lucas got a huge kick out of the baby cow.

Photobucket

Have you hugged a Llama today?!
If this picture doesn't make you smile, you may be dead.

Photobucket

A little hoola hooping to the live music.

Photobucket

I couldn't resist trying this juice, it was amaze.
And Judah got his weekly container of goat cheese...we were a regular customer for that farm!

Photobucket

A little more love in the petting zoo.

Photobucket

It was starting to get cool, so we put on hats and headed home.
Such a fun day!

Photobucket

I just included this pic because how awesome is Judah's hair right now? I love his curls...

Photobucket

Thursday:
Lance arrived home really late Wednesday night and was home to make breakfast on Thursday.
My canadian boys!

Photobucket

When Lance was getting ready for work, we decided to make a badge for Judah just like daddy's work badge. It was so stinking cute I could barely stand it. For real.

Photobucket

Here's a little sneak peak at his badge pic.  We printed one to go in the badge Judah has on, and Lance put one in his actual badge to show off at work, oh man, what a sweet daddy's boy.

Photobucket

Later that day we went to pizza club!
It was just down the street so we loaded into the wagon and walked over.

Photobucket

Everyone gathers and loads their pizza's up with toppings and then we take them home to feed our families.  It's fun to see what toppings people bring.
Judah is mr. pickypants so we bring a frozen pizza and add toppings to half (for me)...the rest of the gals buy nice fancy dough from trader joe and make home made pizza...oh well, it works for us!

Photobucket

Friday:
We have a good friend in our neighborhood who keeps a similar schedule as us (her husband also works a lot and we are on our own a lot) so we get together each week to share dinner.
This night was full of really yummy pumpkin fettuccini and lots of talking and busy kids.
We call miss Clara the Princess...she is royalty!

Photobucket

As we were leaving our friends house, I remembered it was our other friend's (Judah's favorite Miss Christy) birthday, so since we were out and about we headed over to her house to say happy birthday and deliver a note Judah wrote her along with some drawings he made.
She shared her birthday cupcakes with us and invited us for dinner on Sunday night...it was so nice!

Photobucket

Saturday:

We stayed in our neighborhood on Saturday, the local Shelby Park was having a 100 yr celebration.
They unveiled this piece of art along with some park improvements.
We had a blast.

Photobucket

Stepping stones!

Photobucket

When I saw that there would be "dance performances" at the celebration, I assumed hip hop or something similar...but alas. It was the Nashville ballet out on an island marching around in suits, occasionally jumping, falling down, splashing their hands in the water and generally impersonating geese from what I could tell. I'm sure it was more refined and interesting than that, but that is what it looked like to us. It was a hoot.

Photobucket

We went home for naps and then returned later in the day with our friends Noah and Liam (oh and their mommy too of course).  It was a car full of kids!

Photobucket

We got Ice Cream treats!

Photobucket

Their first cones!

Photobucket

Not his first cone ;) he's a pro at the cake cone devouring.

Photobucket

I took a picture of his dog for my mom because I think it is the same dog she has...am I right mom?
I like how this one is groomed. Very pretty dog.

Photobucket

It is always an adventure when Hannah and I do stuff with all our kids.

Photobucket

Sunday:

Sunday I spent cleaning my house and getting stuff ready for the week of my wisdom teeth removal.
Not very picture worthy.
But I should have taken a picture of Judah devouring Spaghetti and Meatballs for the first time.
Thanks to Christy who made us dinner, Judah tried a food he previously has shunned and loved it!
Glory!

So that was our week...and boy was it a good one.
We were busy bees for sure!

right now...

well I had high hopes of getting my weekly blog done last night...but alas, a coughing baby who wouldn't/couldn't sleep and needed mommy snuggles won out.  and now today, I am off to get my wisdom teeth out...so that should be awesome. not.

right now:

Judah is talking non-stop to his daddy about every tiny little thing he can think of.

right now:

Lance just made pancakes and keeps saying "uh-huh" and  "yeah" to whatever the little chatterbox says, he has agreed to many things today...not sure if he knows what ;)

right now:

Lucas is in the play pen with some race cars...and in his normal fashion throwing things out of the play pen to see how far and how loud they drop.

right now:

There is music playing and the smell of pancakes through my house...I'm not allowed to eat this morning so living on the smell.

right now:

Time to get moving, having some friends watch my boys today and need to get them dressed and mobilized for fun!

What are YOU doing right now? :)  Happy Monday friends!

Pumpkin Patch Fun

What's not to love about a Pumpkin Patch Farm?!  Our small group found a deal on a farm that seemed just perfect, and then it was all brisk and fall like outside, so of course it couldn't have been any better...well, unless Lance could have come, he was working...but other than that detail, it was perfect.

Lance's parents had fun, my boys had fun, my small group friends had fun, it was a great day!  I will let the pictures do the talking!

Photobucket

Mommy and Judah on a tire swing by the goats!

Photobucket

Grammy and the boys in the Mini-Corn Maze (smaller maze, not smaller corn)

Photobucket

Judah cheesin' it for my camera...love that boy!

Photobucket

Judah helping Lucas practice walking...not that he needs help, he's practically running on his own, but he loves doing this with his big bro anyways.

Photobucket

Judah climbed to the top all by himself and back down...he was really nervous but super proud when he accomplished it!

Photobucket

Judah was super serious on this merry-go-round...later he asked if he could go on the "dizzy thing" again. ha.

Photobucket

Papa Howard befriended the owner of the farm, he chatted the day away by the fire.

Photobucket

We took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch.

Photobucket

Seth and Lucas are fast friends!

Photobucket

Judah and Leo ran and embraced each other when they first arrived, they are so sweet it is actually enough to give you a tooth ache ;)

Photobucket

I hope they stay this sweet for the rest of their sweet lives!

Photobucket

Lucas and Judah did lots of picture posing, but of course it was a stretch to find any where they both looked good....this shot ended up being my favorite...Lucas is so playful and fun, he and Judah are just so great.
It was an amazing fall day and I am glad we got to enjoy it with grammy and papa, all the more special because they were there.

Our Week...with Grammy!

I started the week off having fun volunteering at church. It was the baby dedication service and everything went great. I was really in my happy place as I organized and executed the details of the reception. I am excited I get to do this again!

Photobucket

The next morning, Lance's parents came to town.  Judah stood at the back door while they walked up to the house from their car and yelled "I'M SO HAPPPPPPYYY!!!" when he saw his grammy and papa. It was sweet.

Photobucket

We did some good shopping once we took Papa to the airport (he went to Texas after a day and left grammy behind to enjoy herself with the grands.) and boy did we have fun!

Photobucket

Grammy and Judah spent lots of time this week putting these leave decals on the
windows...it was a labor of love.

Photobucket

We always love to visit Whole Foods for lunch when grammy's in town,
we took advantage of their awesome pumpkin display for a few photos.

Photobucket

great fun!

Photobucket

I hate these carts, but the boys love them and Grammy and daddy were happy to push them, so we got one for our shopping adventure.

Photobucket

I was pretty happy that we got these trays to put my spices in, I feel so organized.

Photobucket

Judah had school on Thursday...they made family pictures for the family tree!
Judah was really proud of his family (to the left of his head)...I love Judah!

Photobucket

We spent some time at the library with Grammy.  She's a great reader!

Photobucket

Lucas loves to look through books, it's fun.

Photobucket

We had lots of snuggles that night before bed...love my snuggly boys.

Photobucket

Judah set up a restaurant for his lunch the next day...he ordered all sorts of things off of his menu.

Photobucket

We had a really fun dance party as "I got you babe" blasted in my bedroom.
It was one of those moments I couldn't help but feel blessed beyond measure.
I really love my kids.

Photobucket

Grammy did a few sewing projects while she was in town, including some great curtains I haven't taken a pic of yet...and the best part...the Magic Cape she made Judah!  He was in heaven!

Photobucket

One of our last days with Grammy, we went to a pumpkin patch...it was so much fun it deserves its own post...clearly it was fun enough to wear out the baby!

Photobucket

It was a really great week and I am tired! but good tired.  What will next week hold?!
